Choose Restylane Treatment for Your Wrinkles

Published on March 21, 2019

Aging is a beautiful thing, because it reminds one of the life they’ve had – experiences, relationships, adventures. When age shows as a physical factor, though, it can be difficult to deal with.

Wrinkles are a harsh reminder of the aging process. Wrinkles that form at the edges of the mouth (parentheses lines) and between the nose and mouth (the nasolabial folds) are embarrassing reminders that one isn’t as young as they once were.

Dermal fillers can help address these age lines. Fillers are gel-like substances that are injected below the skin to make it look fuller and tighter, smoothing away stubborn wrinkles.

Types of Fillers

Fillers are mostly categorized by their active ingredient. There are natural and synthetic dermal fillers. Synthetic fillers have longer-lasting effects but are not biodegradable and have a greater risk of side effects than natural ones.

Among natural fillers, those made of hyaluronic acid are the most popular. Hyaluronic acid is found naturally in the skin tissues. It is biodegradable. This acid stores moisture to give the skin a hydrated, plump, soft, and supple look.

Restylane: An Excellent Filler Option

Restylane is one of the most popular hyaluronic acid dermal fillers, and for good reason. It is used in the trouble areas of the face to add volume to the dermal layer below the skin. This helps prop the skin up and makes it look tighter and smoother.

This injectable dermal filler is FDA approved, meaning it has been rigorously tested in order to determine its safely and suitability for the market.

Restylane has a firmer and more granular consistency than other hyaluronic acid fillers. This makes it ideal for moderate and harsh facial age lines.

Since Restylane is more cohesive, it stays where it is injected instead of migrating to other areas of the face. It can even be molded into the required shape, making it a more flexible option than other fillers.

The Restylane Treatment Process

The treatment process for Restylane is quite simple, comfortable, and convenient. It’s usually so quick that it can be performed during a patient’s lunch break. Because it is only minimally invasive, no recovery period will be necessary, so patients can immediately return to their daily schedule.

The procedure starts with marking of the target areas. Because Restylane contains Lidocaine, a local anesthetic, general anesthesia will not be needed. The injections will be delivered using the markings as a guide. Thanks to the Lidocaine, discomfort will be minimized.

Treatment Results

Results appear immediately in the form of new volume and smooth, wrinkle-free skin. These results can last up to 18 months after the date of the treatment process. During this time, the product is slowly and safely absorbed by the body.

Once the results have faded, patients are welcome to come back for follow-up Restylane treatments in order to keep their faces looking youthful and beautiful.
