With more women realizing that they don’t have to settle for breasts they are not happy with, breast-enhancement surgeries are getting more and more popular. After all, breast enhancement is an effective way to get the breasts you have always wanted.
If you’re unhappy with the size and shape of your breasts and wish you had fuller and firmer breasts, an augmentation lift may be the perfect procedure for you.
Breast Augmentation and Breast Lifts
Breast augmentation with implants and the breast lift are two of the most popular cosmetic procedures in the world, and combining the two has become a sought-after option.
The augmentation lift, also known as an augmentation mastopexy, makes breasts bigger and fuller by inserting implants while lifting the position of the breasts for a more youthful, firm, and perky appearance.
There are various kinds of implants you can choose for your breasts. Below are the two main options:
• Silicone implants: These implants are filled with silicone gel and provide a very natural look and feel for your breasts, making them the most common option. They must be inserted pre-filled.
• Saline implants: These implants are inserted empty through a small incision. They are then filled with a saline solution to the patient’s liking.
What Is the Augmentation Lift Like?
The augmentation lift takes around an hour in total. It begins with insertion of the implants. First, incisions will be made. Their location will depend on a number of factors, including the kind of implant you have chosen. They may be made around the areola, under the breast fold, or in the armpit.
The implants are then inserted through the incisions, either right behind the breast tissue or under the pectoral muscle. They will be properly positioned in the tissue pockets. Along with the increase in volume, size asymmetries can also be addressed during breast augmentation.
Next is the breast lift portion of the procedure, which involves removal of excess skin from the breasts. After the necessary amount of skin has been removed to achieve the patient’s desired degree of lift, the size and location of the areolae will be adjusted. This helps to ensure that they are in proper proportion with the new appearance of the breasts.
To finish the procedure, the incisions are carefully closed using surgical sutures and dressed as needed. One major benefit of this procedure is that only a single recovery and healing period is needed afterwards as opposed to two separate recovery periods.
Am I a Suitable Candidate?
If you identify with any of the following, then you are a suitable candidate for augmentation mastopexy:
• You are not happy with the appearance of your breasts and want fuller, firmer, and perkier breasts.
• You have small breasts that affect your self-image and self-confidence.
• You are above the age of 18 (or 21, depending on the implant type requested).
