In general there are 3 categories of women seeking breast augmentation.
Category I: Young women who have never been pregnant, are happy with the shape of their breasts, but are seeking enlargement not necessarily for the sake of being bigger, but to fit better in clothing. For example many category I women would like to fit into a strapless gown or wear a fine blouse without having to wear a heavily padded bra. These ladies usually insist on not being large and are seeking a very “natural look” to the breast. I will discuss natural look later.
Category II: Young women who may be modeling, dancing, bartending or in other fields that want enhancement for work related reasons. These women frequently desire large augmentations and are not as concerned with a natural look but more concerned with volume and outward projection.
Category III: These women have been pregnant and possibly breast fed one or more children. Often times they have sagging of the breast tissue and desire improvement in the shape as well as the size of the breast. Frequently, category III women tell me that they just want their breasts to look like they did when they were 20’s or to look the way they did when they were pregnant and engorged. Often times these women may need a lift in addition to augmentation.
Also there are women that do not exactly fit into these categories but maybe a little bit of all of them. These are mere guidelines to help make a decision regarding what type of implant and procedure would be best.
Please try to figure out what category or combination of categories you fit into before your consultation.
