Fat Grafting Inland Empire
Fat grafting is an ideal solution for those looking for cosmetic enhancement without implants or synthetic fillers. With fat transfer Dr. Dev Wali is able to transfer unwanted fat from one area of the body to the desired location, often in the chin, cheekbones or breasts. Fat transfer is a popular addition to liposuction or liposculpture because the fat cells can be stored or “banked” for future use
What Is Fat Grafting?
Fat grafting, also referred to as autologous fat transfer or fat injections, is the surgical process of transferring fat from one part of your body to other parts in order to sculpt, reshape, or add volume.
It is commonly performed to reshape facial contours, add fullness to the breasts and buttocks, or reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles. Since it utilizes the body’s own natural fat, this procedure’s rate of adverse reactions is very low, making it a popular choice among patients.
Reasons for considering Fat Grafting
- Desire no synthetic fillers in areas of face, breast or buttocks
- Breast enhancement- fat cells used for breast augmentation are used to increase breast size for a natural look and feel
- Facial lines and wrinkles- fat is injected into areas of the face where wrinkles exist or where volume has been lost
- buttocks augmentation-Fat can also be transferred to the butt for extra shape and volume.
During your consultation, you will discuss your facial rejuvenation goals with Dr. Wali, a board-certified plastic surgeon. Dr. Wali will perform a physical examination on your target areas to determine whether fat grafting is the best option for treatment. It is important that you communicate your concerns and expectations so that Dr. Wali can walk you through the process.
A discussion of your medical history will also be undertaken. Let Dr. Wali know about any existing medical conditions, current medications or supplements, and past cosmetic procedures. This is also the best time to ask any questions you may have.
Fat grafting is a two part procedure that involves the removal of stem-cell rich fatty tissue from one area of the body to another location. The process of removal and transfer can be performed simultaneously or at different times. Dr. Wali begins by saturating the donor area with a sterile saline solution which breaks apart the fatty deposits and makes it easier for removal. Dr. Wali is careful to gently suction the fat removed in order to minimize potential damage of cells and ensure that impurities are removed before transfer to new location. Patients often choose to schedule the transfer at the same time as removal but banking of viable cells for later transfer is an option that can be discussed during consultation with Dr. Wali.
Most patients report little discomfort following fat transfer. The location of removal will be a little sore and the recipient site may be swollen or tight as your skin and muscles adapt to the new tissue but patients generally return to normal activity within weeks.
How Much Does Fat Grafting Cost?
Fat grafting is an individualized process based on patient needs and goals. The cost of fat transfer procedures differs from one patient to another. The overall price may be affected by the extent of the work done, the anesthetic used, and the amount of fat being transferred.
