Conveniently located to serve the Inland Empire
Labiaplasty in the Inland Empire is done to reduce the length, thickness, discoloration, and/or asymmetry of the labia minora. It is a vaginal-rejuvenation surgery that corrects loose vaginal tissues due to childbirth or aging.
Reasons to Consider Labiaplasty
Many women find the size and shape of the inner fold of vaginal tissue also known as the labia minora have grown during puberty or later in life to a degree that has created a functional and or cosmetic problem. The most frequent reasons that women request labiaplasty / vaginal rejuvenation surgery are-
discomfort in tight clothing, pain during intercourse, visible labia in exercise clothing, twisting of the labia during everyday activity, exposure in a bathing suit, restriction in clothing choices
Labiaplasty surgery can effectively resolve these concerns in a safe and relatively quick procedure with minimal downtime.
Am I a Good Candidate?
The best candidates for labiaplasty are women who want to correct significant labial changes after giving birth. Women may also undergo labiaplasty if they have always had large and/or asymmetrical labia. Labiaplasty is ideal for you if you have realistic expectations and you want to remedy problems that involve labial size.
Your Initial Consultation
During the consultation, Dr. Dev Wali will perform a careful assessment to help decide if labiaplasty is the right option for you. Dr. Wali should be made aware of how excess labial tissue affects your daily life and what your desired results are for the procedure.
The labiaplasty consultation includes a discussion of your general health, the anesthesia to be used, the recovery process, the procedure’s improvements to sexual intercourse, and any potential complications.
Labiaplasty surgery takes about an hour and is performed under local anesthesia with sedation or under general anesthesia. The procedure Dr. Wali uses most frequently is the modified wedge excision technique. He prefers this technique to the traditional straight-line excision because it preserves the natural appearance of the labia and has a shorter less noticeable scar. The sutures used are absorbable and dissolve on their own after a few weeks.
After labia rejuvenation/reshaping surgery, oral antibiotics are given for about 5 days to help prevent infection. Application of a moisturizing ointment to the labia is required for about 4 weeks to prevent drying and cracking of the tissues. Sexual intercourse is also prohibited for 4 to 6 weeks to prevent any damage to the rejuvenated tissues.
Long Term Improvements
Once recovery is complete from the labiaplasty procedure my patients have been extremely happy with the cosmetic and functional improvements experienced. Many patients feel much more at ease wearing yoga pants, swimsuits, as well as tight jeans. They no longer feel the uncomfortable pinching and tugging caused by the excess labia tissue and are pleasantly surprised by how little pain there was after the procedure.
How Much Does Labiaplasty Cost?
The final cost for a labiaplasty procedure varies depending on numerous factors. The overall price is determined by the techniques used, the anesthesia fee, medications needed after surgery, and hospital or facility costs.
