Breast Reduction Inland Empire
Women living with overly large breasts often experience pain in their neck, shoulders and back. Large breasts can sag or feel heavy even when concealed in a bra. Women often complain of the deep grooves that dig into their shoulders or create lumps in their clothing. In addition to the physical discomfort of large breasts many women also feel emotional distress over unwanted attention paid to the size of their breasts. Dr. Wali consults with numerous women at his Inland Empire office who feel that the size of their breasts affects their self-confidence and impedes their ability to enjoy everyday activities. Dr. Wali’s breast reduction with breast lift is designed to reduce, reshape and lift overly large or sagging breasts so that each patient can feel confident about breasts that are more comfortable, balanced and proportionate to their body. Large breasts are often the result of a combination of weight gain, hormones or heredity. The weight of large breasts plays a dominant role in premature sagging but can also be accompanied by factors like poor skin tone, stretching of ligaments during breast feeding and pregnancy, aging or heredity. The good news is that Dr. Wali’s breast reduction with a lift can correct both conditions with the same basic operative procedure.
Breast reduction (or reduction mammaplasty) is an enhancement procedure that reshapes the breasts in order to make them smaller, lighter, and firmer. The breast reduction procedure can be a life altering operation. Not only can the pain and discomfort of weighty breasts be eliminated but the beauty and shape can be enhanced as well. Even small amounts of tissue reduction can improve the breast shape as well as decrease the strain on the back and shoulders. Reduction is accomplished by removing excess fat, glandular tissue, and skin. Large breasts can cause physical pain as well as emotional and social anxiety. Women who take advantage of the breast reduction procedure find that they are able to lead a healthier, more comfortable life, in addition to enjoying a beautiful, more proportionate appearance. While the main reason for a breast reduction is to improve back and shoulder pain, Dr. Wali believes that cosmetic enhancement is equally important. During your consultation you will be encouraged to discuss all concerns and expectations for surgery. Dr. Wali will discuss each option for his advanced scar minimizing techniques. No women’s breasts are completely symmetrical but Dr. Wali will discuss all options for creating the most balanced firm and youthful breasts unique to every patient. Many patients seeking breast reduction surgery due to health related reasons are able to receive insurance coverage. If you have any questions about insurance coverage, or would like to further discuss Dr. Wali’s breast reduction techniques please feel free to call the office at 909-624-4440. We will be happy to answer any questions or to assist you in scheduling your consultation with Dr. Wali.
Reasons to consider Breast Reduction
Reasons to consider Breast Reduction Surgery or Breast Reduction with a Lift
- Back, neck or shoulder pain caused by heavy breasts.
- Sagging breasts produced by their large size.
- Disproportionate body frame attributed to oversized breasts.
- Restriction of physical activity due to the size and weight of the breasts.
- Painful bra strap marks and/or rashes as a result of large breasts.
Techniques for breast reduction vary depending on the amount of tissue being removed; however, the most common procedure involves an incision that circles the areola. From the areola, the incision goes down and follows the natural curve under the breast. Dr. Wali will then remove excess glandular tissue, fat, and skin. Next, the nipple and areola are repositioned to a higher position and held in place by stitches. Occasionally, liposuction alone can be used to reduce breast size. The best procedure can be determined during your initial consultation with Dr. Wali. Of all plastic surgery procedures, breast reduction results in the quickest body-image changes. Patients are pleased with the elimination of physical pain caused by large breasts as well as a better proportioned body, an enhanced appearance, and better fitting clothes.
Generally, post-operative instructions call for plenty of rest and limited movement in order to speed up the healing process and reduce the recovery time. Our Plastic Surgery SoCal team will apply bandages immediately following surgery to aid the healing process and to minimize movement of the breasts. Once the bandages are removed, a specialized surgical bra will need to be worn for several weeks. Patients sometimes report minor pain associated with surgery. Any pain can be treated with oral medication. While complications are rare, patients can minimize potential problems by carefully following the instructions provided by Dr. Wali after surgery.
